This past Tuesday night, the PR committee planned Unite in Service, where we hosted a night for multiple service organizations from the area to come together and share service. It was a lot of fun having APO, Circle K, Lori’s Hands and Canine Companions for Independence join us and reach out to even more people than we could on our own. We even had some alumni sisters from the Delaware Diamonds chapter come, which was awesome to share this event with sisters we don’t get to see as often!
At Unite in Service, we raised money to send our chapter to National Convention this summer, as well as money for Alex’s Lemonade Stand. We made cards to soldiers, fleece tie blankets for March of Dimes, cards for children in a local hospital, notes of encouragement to women recently diagnosed with breast cancer, friendship bracelets to sell to raise money for Relay for Life, and other organizations also brought along small projects to benefit their philanthropies. We also had tables set up to promote our 5k to benefit the B+ Foundation and the American Cancer Society, sign ups for Relay for Life, and a station to send emails to senators to promote M.A.D.D.
A big thanks to everyone who came out, because the night turned out better than I could have ever expected!
